Sweet Little Emma

This 30-minute photo session centered around a basic principle: babies love their grandparents, and grandparents love them right back.  Little Emma stole our hearts before we even started shooting!  She is such a sweet and happy little girl.  Dressed in purple to match her grandma, she toddled, smiled and laughed easily: especially when Grandpa was around!  This photo was snapped on our way to the location.  I just love how she holds Grandma's hand to steady herself because soon enough she'll be off and running on her own!

We can't forget Grandpa!  He gave us some of her best smiles from behind our cameras.  I just LOVE it when parents and other loved ones get absolutely goofy standing behind us trying to get those stubborn smiles!  Bill, a.k.a. "Grandpa," was at the top of his game.  He sang silly songs, clapped, cooed, made faces, and pretty much did everything but stand on his head.  I really wish I had pointed a camera in HIS direction!

Grandpa and Emma playtime!
He's so sweet with her!
Blow kisses, Emma!

They must be deep in conversation....
Happy Emma + Beautiful (and happy!) JoAnne.  I love it!

Love this one too!

Great job, everybody!  Thanks for being such great sports and braving the HEAT!  : )

Katelyn's First Communion Photos -or- J&JP's First Studio Session!

That's right, folks.  This was our very first full-studio session!  Jenni and I decided that we would really like to offer clients the option of studio photos during the obscenely hot summer and when tiny little babies can't just be plopped down on the grass.  So...Julia researched the fun out of buying studio equipment, and Jenni dusted off the old college books to find the best set-up for sweet little Katie and her mom Julie.  These are the product of all of the research, time and preparation, for both us AND Katie!  ; )

Julie brought a photo of her son's first communion that she wanted us to replicate.  Challenge accepted!  The rosary was the hardest part of getting this right.  Ultimately, it looks very similar to the other photo, so we were all very pleased.  (below)

We really like this in black & white too!

With her special family Bible.  She's just so pretty!

We love this pose....

...But we especially love this pose in black & white.  : )
Congratulations on your First Communion, Katie.  You are so pretty, and we are so glad that you and your mom gave us the opportunity to use our studio skills!  We had a blast!

Jessica's Maternity Session

Aren't they beautiful?!  I (Julia) am not sure that there is a more beautiful woman than an expectant mother.  Jessica was about a month from her little bundle-of-joy's birth day when we took these images.  She and Mike were so excited to welcome their first baby and share their joy with us!  We decided that the beach at sunset would be the perfect location for them.  It was hot, so we were working to get as many shots as we could in just thirty minutes!  YIKES!  Jessica, Mike, Jenni and I are so pleased with the results!  We hope you love them too.  <3

Beautiful people on a beautiful beach.  It doesn't get better than this!

She's golden and glowing.

They just can't wait to meet little Emery!

LOVE!  <3

Thank you, Mike and Jessica for letting us capture these beautiful moments,
and congratulations on little Emery!

The Foxy Foxworth Family Hits the BLOG!!!

This is my friend Terri and her BEA-U-TIFUL family!  She and I taught high school together last year, which was AWESOME!  You know how it is when you meet someone and you just "click"?  That's Terri and I.  We didn't just teach together, we shared the experience of taking a new job in a new school with new curriculum and new expectations, and we ROCKED it.  We have THAT kind of friendship.  It's pretty sweet!  : )  So, when she asked me if Jenni and I would take family photos for them, I was thrilled!

So, Jenni and I knew of this awesome beach which is seriously marked with a large "no trespassing" sign.  We thought, "Perfect."

This is a shot of the beach from our location scouting trip a few months earlier.

When the Foxworths heard about the "secret" beach, they were super-excited to break the law and take some pictures.  ; )  So were we!

Not only have I had the privilege to get to know Terri at school, but I also got to know her gorgeous children.  Sam and Rachel are two of the sweetest kiddos I know.  They were both in my drama class, so I got to know both of them exceedingly well.  When the day of the photo session finally arrived, everyone was so happy and relaxed; we just had fun!
Sweet Rachel  <3

Samuel...I love this one!

They are such close friends...I love the relationships in this family!

I like to call this "Sisterly Love" --or-- "Sam Gets Attacked By Rachel's Hair"

I should also mention, it was pretty windy...poor Rachel!

This is my favorite.  : )

Scott loves Terri, and Terri loves Scott.  <3
Caught in a laugh!

Thank you, Foxworths!  We had a blast breaking the law with you!

Our Sweet Friends...The Smith Family

Meet the Smith family!  Jenni and I were soooo excited about this shoot because we have all been close friends for almost 10 years.  We have watched Brandt and Denise start out as a great couple, add a sweet little "Bug" and a second cuddly "Puppy."  Their girls are just so beautiful; we knew these pictures would be FANTASTIC!  And we were not disappointed.  There was one obstacle, however; PROM NIGHT.  Dun, dun, dun, DUN....

Jenni and I had chosen a beautiful location that we were positive would be PERFECT.  And it was.  If we could remove the 30 other people and their photographers who were doing the exact same thing in the exact same spot.  The exact same spot.  Yep, it was prom night.  Um, oops?  Neither one of us had realized our mistake until we saw the dresses.  You know the ones I mean.  THOSE dresses.  We hemmed and hawed for about 15 minutes, then pulled the plug.  Let's face it, we're nice girls.  We don't fight other photogs.  Or teenage girls in electric blue.  So, we called Denise and told her where to find the alternative location.  Luckily, it was right down the street and nearly deserted.  SCORE!  We got down to business, and when Brandt, Denise and the girls showed up, we were ready to go.  I don't regret our decision for a second!

Soooo Sweet!  The girls have matching "Big Sis" and "Lil' Sis" outfits!

Look at those eyes!

She's such a beautiful little lady.  : )

Awww!  Daddy and his little girls.

I think this is my favorite!  I love her sweet little squished face!

Denise and her big girl.

And...add a sweet baby!

Thank you for letting us capture your beautiful smiles and your beautiful family, Brandt and Denise!  Oh, and where should we go to lunch on Sunday?  ; )
